The Foundation’s Affiliate Societies

 A number of civil societies and non-governmental organizations work under the supervision of GICDF in several fields. The Foundation provides support for them in order to exercise their developmental and humanitarian activities.

  The Libyan National society for Anti-Drugs and Mental Stimulants

 It is a charitable non-governmental society working to provide services and focus on the drug takers and addicts’ problems by devising and providing rehabilitation, health, psychological and social programs. It also provides facilities, loans and assistance for the addicts.

The objectives of the association that was established in 1994 lie in raising awareness, introducing the risks of drugs, mental stimulants and addiction. It helps in accommodating them in specialized clinics. It also provides assistance for those healed (rehabilitee) to enable them to reintegrate into society and so as the Associations conducts scientific studies and researches about the causes and the ways of treatment of the drug phenomena.


 

 

Human Rights Society

 The Human Rights society was established in 1999 to work to achieve respect for human rights, basic liberties and defending them and establishing the principles of human rights in conformity with the national laws and international covenants and treaties.


 

 

 

 

 

Society for the Vulnerable on the Earth

 Society for the Vulnerable is a charitable non-governmental organization (NGO); it is a corporate body financially independent. It was founded in 2001 and its head office is based in the city of Benghazi in accordance with the laws in effect in Libya.

The goals of the society lie in defending the human rights of individuals and groups who are exposed to oppression because of their political positions advocating just causes, justice and resisting colonization providing that they have not used violence as a means to realize their goals and prosecuting war and racial discrimination criminals, and taking legal action against them. It also aims at propagating awareness about the rights, liberties and instigating their practices. It seeks to cooperate with humanitarian charitable associations domestically and abroad, and to support the prisoners of wars (POW's) and demand their release.

 

 

 

De-mining Society

The Society for de-mining was established in 2004. It is a non-governmental organization. It has been attending to the removal of the mines and taking care of those who had been hurt by those mines (i.e. the mutilated and the maimed etc…). It is contributing directly to the awareness programs and education of the inhabitants about the damaged areas and how to deal with, and avoid the mines implanted in those areas.


 

 

 

 

 

The Brothers of the South Society

The brothers of the South was established to support and strengthen cooperation relations with the institutions and the African countries in the fields of relief, development, healthy, culture and education. The brothers since its foundation has made a set of development and humanitarian activities in African countries for example building Saif Al Islam Secondary School in the city of Faya in Chad. It had laid the corner stones of building the orphanage in N\'djamena and offering humanitarian assistance for the migrants and the displaced of Darfur in Chad in 2005.
