Mr. Seif al-Islam Gaddafi, Chairman of the Gaddafi International Charity and Development Foundation, arrived in Kazakhstan, on Sunday March 28th, 2010, on a five-day visit during which he met with the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev.
During the meeting, President Nazarbayev expressed his intention to visit Libya at the earliest opportunity, and provided a briefing on the investment opportunities available in his country, and he also talked about its modern capital Astana, which was founded in 1998, pointing out that it offers several success factors.
Mr. Seif al-Islam met with Kazakh Prime Minister, Karim Masimov. Then he visited the National Museum and the Conference Palace, after which he toured the capital, Astana. He had a firsthand experience of its urban development, and visited a number of infrastructure projects such as stadiums among others.
Kazakhstan is distinguished for its diversified economy. It possesses many of the ingredients that would make of it a great economic power; it has vast agricultural areas, great industrial potentials and is famous for manufacturing tractors and heavy machinery.
