Gaddafi International Charity and Development Foundation has received a thank you and appreciation letter from Mr. Mohamed Khalid Mohsin, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Nahran Foundation for Relief and Development in Iraq . This thank-you note comes following a visit by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Nahran Foundation to the Gaddafi Foundation and during which a MOU was signed providing that GICDF lends a Gaddafi International Charity and Development Foundation received a message from Mr. Hosni Louhichi Essadig, Secretary of Legal Affairs and Human Rights at the General People's Congress (Parliament), regarding the meeting held on 20/7/2008, which was also attended by the Secretary General People's Committee for Justice, Mr. Saleh Abdussalam, the Secretary of the Human Rights Society subsidiary of Gaddafi International Foundation Charities and development, and Mr. Faraj Al-Housine, Director of the Department of Human Rights. The meeting was meant to review some of the human rights reports. The following is a presentation of what has been agreed upon during that meeting: 1 - Form a joint committee of Legal Affairs and Human Rights, the General People's Committee for Justice to review laws which are inconsistent with the “Great Green Document on Human Rights in the Jamahiri Era”, and to modify them in conformity with the Great Green Document, pursuant to Law No. (5) 1991 regarding application of the principles of the said document. 2 - Emphasis on the non-arrest of any person, except under sound legal procedures, and in case there are detainees they must be brought to court for trial. 3 - Emphasis on activating the role of the committee that was mandated by Brother the Leader on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the People’s Authority regarding the return of Libyans living abroad and providing them assistance they need. 4 - Emphasis on the role of the Libyan Social Leadership in inculcating social reconciliation and social peace. 5 - Review of some grievances of regarding compensations and find a practical formula to reach compromise and amicable reconciliation. |
